Repairing problems with automobiles has long been a significant problem for me, in that I am about as handy with a wrench or knowledgeable about cars as I am able to serve as a back-up astronaut should the need arise. Thankfully, the good folks over at Pep Boys are available to help those of that are not mechanically inclined. I am certainly not mechanically inclined. That is to say, I am almost completely useless when it comes to fixing my car. In fact, I often suggest that I could earn a living putting on a performance art piece I like to call “Changing a Tire.” It is not intended to be a comedy, but that neither helps me learn about repairing automobiles nor solves whatever immediate problems with my cars that I am experiencing.
It might sound curious, but simply replacing the wiper blades on my new car proved to be beyond my meager abilities. Although I was more than a little embarrassed to ask initially, once I told the employees at the counter about my difficulties they were only too happy to help, and in fact they installed my new wiper blades in a few moments, right out in the parking lot.
Little things like this make a difference to me. Many auto repair shops would have charged an arm and a leg, as well as have made me feel rather stupid for not knowing how to perform such a simple repair. With such great and friendly help available right in my neighborhood, I do not feel half as useless when it comes to fixing the small problems with my car.
